Blueberrys is based in the beautiful village of Urchfont on the edge of Salisbury Plain in the heart of Wiltshire & is run by Debbie Alden.
We are able to offer Dog Grooming and Spa treatments for mans' (and woman's!!) best friend and guarantee your dog will be treated with the kindness and respect they deserve. Our aim is to make their stay with us as happy and pleasant as possible.
We offer a safe, home from home, friendly environment where the dogs welfare comes first.
Dogs are taken on a one to one basis for grooming & are welcome to relax in the garden during their stay.
At Blueberrys we use natural products when grooming as we don't believe in the need to put unsafe products on our dogs.
Debbie has been lucky enough to grow up with dogs and considers them to be a very important member of her family. Over the years, she and her husband have enjoyed taking part in agility, flyball and obedience with several of their dogs.
Her career for over thirty years has been with horses, breeding and producing youngsters up to national level in various disciplines, competing in dressage and training horses and riders. Her clipping skills have won several prizes for Best Turned Out in the Racing world and she has also won many prizes in Show classes. Although she still has horses of her own she decided it was time for a change.
It seemed logical to put her grooming skills to good use and combine them with her love of dogs. So she took a diploma in Dog Grooming with the Blackford Centre which she passed with distinction. With the help of her husband she set up her own salon.
As well as her Dog Grooming Diploma she also holds a Diploma in Canine Psychology & Behaviour Management, her Canine First Aid certificate and is fully insured.
Debbie has always loved working with animals and considers it a privilege to be able to do so. She loves meeting people and their pets and takes great pride in her work.
Her inspiration for BlueberrysDogs was her Sheltie - Blueberry! It was grooming her that inspired her to become a dog groomer, henceforth the name for the business.
In March 2018 she passed her certificate in Canine Health & Nutrition with the highest score possible. This led to an interest in Nutrigenomics. She then went on to study for her Level 5 Professional Diploma as a Nutritional Therapist achieving her goal in May 2018.
Following her years of training horses and riders, Debbie began training classes for Puppy's & Agility. She hopes to add to these classes in the future.
